God is Still Good

City Life Church Get Involved

Here we are, mid-May, and the world still feels a little upside down. Randomly we can all congregate at the store, but small businesses are still restricted. Some people wear a mask, some do not, and some wear them halfway. There is no doubt that Covid-19 is a scary illness, it is just with all the politics, it is hard to know what to believe.

Here is what I know, God is still good! I choose to look through the spiritual lens. I am not sure I want to go back to “normal”. Everything that was unimportant has been stripped back. Families are back to the dinner table, cooking and baking together, playing games, and going for walks together. I prefer that to walking alone on a treadmill for sure! Parents are participating in their Child’s education and finding creative ways to learn. Teachers are no longer confined to just teaching to the test.

I heard a pastor say, “what if normal is not somewhere to go back to?” I could not agree more. I recognize that this is also a scary time for many of us. Loved ones have been lost and many are unemployed. I want to encourage you to look for Gods leading in all of this. What gift did God place in you that is not being utilized? Maybe it is time to dust off those abilities that you lost confidence in. Who told you that it was not enough? God has given you everything you need to fulfill His purpose for your life.

Take a step, do some research, ask some questions, change your perspective. I believe entrepreneurs are going to rise up in this time. Risk will be taken, and success will be found. What is God calling you to? Now is your time!

Maybe it is not a business, but a career change. Is it time to finally marry that woman and start a family? The world is shifting, will you get in alignment with where God is moving? Start the non-profit, serve someone. It is time to step out of complacency, get some fresh air, get a fresh idea. Now is your time! What will you do with it?

This is a marathon not a sprint. It is not about rushing or striving. It is about listening and leaning in. Get in your bible, pray, and listen. God is speaking.

God has a good plan for your life. Take the next step and trust God with the rest. When we do what we can do, God will do what only He can do. Let’s go! You were made for this!
