In the Summer of 2011, there were few if any children at City Life Center. But that didn’t last very long.
By the Spring of 2012, Carleen Anderson stepped up to oversee our growing Nursery Ministry. Also, Preston Woody volunteered to lead our Preschool / Elementary Ministry.
A few months later, in the Summer of 2012, we moved our Office / Volunteer Center, allowing the Nursery to acquire that larger space. We added storage & enhanced our audio system in the Preschool/Elementary Room. It sufficed … for the time being.
By the Spring of 2013, we began to see a trend: 30% – 35% of our total Sunday attendance were children under the age of twelve.
It’s time for change. We must EXPAND, INCREASE, ENHANCE, CREATE & SECURE this ministry FOR THE CHILDREN.
EXPAND:
EXPAND our children’s meeting space: Evacuate our Office / Volunteer Center, enabling the room to be used for a preschool ministry. We will also build a small room in the back of the auditorium that can be used as our Volunteer Center. The cost of the EXPAND portion is approximately $1500.00.
INCREASE:
INCREASE our Children’s Ministry team. New volunteers are needed to serve as coordinators, workers, and rotating parent helpers. These specific needs are listed on the Participation Form.
ENHANCE:
ENHANCE our ministry tools. Curriculum, toys and furniture must be purchased. A “shopping list” is available. Also, other purchases will total approximately $1200.00.
CREATE:
CREATE a visually stimulating environment. The children’s rooms will be painted with murals and decorated. An “artist contest” will ensue, awarding one artist with $300.00 for supplies.
SECURE:
SECURE our ministry. Security cameras, a screened worker badging system and a new security system and procedures will be implemented. This should cost about $350.00 to complete.
Our goal is to complete this project by our 2-Year Anniversary on Sunday, September 15.
