An Update From Pastor Tim
Christmas is here!
As I am writing this, the clock has just passed midnight, and it is exactly seven days until Christmas.
I have truly enjoyed this season thus far. Even the ice storm that paralyzed Fort Worth for a few days was delightful, in a way.
One night, as my sons and I were about to leave the CLC Building, we decided to slowly drive ten blocks to Sundance Square to see if there was any activity. All the restaurants and businesses were closed, but the plaza was illuminated and quite surreal. There was only one chilly security guard and the Woody men present, so we decided to enjoy the new “ice rink” created by the weather.
We discovered it’s a lot of fun having the plaza to yourself at Christmas time, and there’s always a silver lining behind every storm.
My Christmas tree at home has toppled three times. I guess it’s just one of those years when I question the logic of placing a live tree in my living room. But, I can truly say it’s been an adventure of sorts. Rebecca would probably feel a bit different.
Christmas Candlelight Communion Service
This Sunday, December 22, at City Life Center, we will hold my favorite worship gathering of the year at 11:00 AM. I call it our Candlelight Communion Service. This will be a special, intimate time of worship, scripture reading and communion that will truly set our hearts in the mood for Christmas.
I’ll be sharing a message entitled, Christmas Is For-Giving. I believe this message will resonate in your heart, and speak to the reality of what we all need this Christmas.
I also heard that our children will sing their version of The Twelve Days of Christmas at the conclusion of the service. Please join me for worship this Sunday, December 22 at 11:00 AM!
